The television show 24 is an action/drama series put out by the Fox Network. This show debuted in late 2001 and has since run for 7 full consecutive seasons; 24 is now in its eighth season. The show revolves around Jack Bauer played by Kiefer Sutherland Jack is a highly trained government agent who is currently working against terrorists who are an imminent threat to the safety of millions of United States citizens.
The one thing that 24 has done different than other shows is that it broadcasts its episodes in real time. Other shows skip from one place to another taking hours and jamming it into a few minutes, but 24 has everything stretched out in real time format. You may be wondering how they accomplish this when sometimes two things happen at once; when this happens the show goes into split screen mode. This allows you to see up to four scenes at once, so not only does 24 have more action than most shows it also keeps you interested the whole time.
24 has been nominated for numerous awards from the Golden Globes and Primetime Emmys. The shows actors, producers, and writers have also all taken home awards for the different parts they played in the making of this show. This should not be surprising at all because this show has received some of the highest ratings one Fox on May 22, 2006 a record of 13.78 million viewers tuned in to the network at 9/8c to watch this shows season finale, this record was then broken again in 2007 when 15.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the four-hour premiere of 24's sixth season.
Does 24 have an agenda? Yes I believe that it does. It is up to you to decide if this agenda is good or bad… The government officials in this show use methods of integrating suspected terrorists that are sometimes questionable; this has brought criticism from a few watchdog groups around the world, but Fox has not paid them much attention and continues to air the very popular show anyways.
24 is a pretty decent show, I would not expect anything less from the Fox Network. 24 is one of the few shows on television that deals with problem of terrorism; most other shows down play it; but not 24. To catch a glimpse of what everybody is talking about head over to Fox or go out and buy season 1-7 on DVD.
