What you do you get when you put together a Pop Idol runner up and a former boy band member to form a new band together? Well, there is a great possibility that these guys will click and be successful.
Dane Bowers and Gareth Gates have something in common than just music. The new band is called “5th Story”
Both of them dated Katie Price. Gareth Gates talk about how his career got affected by the affair.
Joining them on the 5th Story are Anthony Kavana, James Kenzie and Adam Rickitt.
Dane had done some research about his new band mates.
Dane, who is not only a DJ, but is also a talent manager tell the affair both of them (Gareth) has with Katie Price before.
Gareth opened up and talk about his relationship with the model Katie. Katie was already pregnant when he has a love affair with Gareth.
Their relationship lasted for 4 months and they were happy.
He admitted that during that time, the relationship was a secret so that his family wouldn’t found out about it.
He was only 17, so he doesn’t want to about it with his family. If he revealed the truth with his family then they are going to have a problem. His family, friends and fans wouldn't understand it and that would not be good for him and his career.
At the young age of 17, he was already in a high profile relationship. He can’t handle the stress of having a high profile relationship.
Gareth admitted that he got force to say that he doesn’t have any girlfriend that time, so Katie talks about it and Gareth tells everyone that it was a lie.
Gareth says: 'The only thing I thought in my head to do was say it had never happened, I felt I had to because I didn't want my family to know about my sex life, I didn't tell anyone my family or friends, so they all backed me.'
When asked about the effect of his early involvement with a high profile relationship. The singer admitted the fling did have a lasting impact on his appeal in a frank discussion with his mommy, Wendy.
Wendy then said that they don’t want to talk about it so they force their mind to believe that the relationship doesn’t exist.
Gareth then added that it was tough to be popular again after all the lies that had been told.
