Usher surely knows how to bring down people. Usher criticizes one of the contestants by phrasing the power of the voice, but worrying about the confidence level. Shakira then interrupts him as she tried to defend one of her own.
As usual, the coaches are competitive in a way that they will try everything to win the competition. Helping their subordinates while trying to bring down a competitor. That is how it goes with the sixth season of the NBC reality show.
This is the second season for both Shakira and Usher so they are not as naïve as before. They have replaced both Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green respectively on ‘The Voice’.
The tenacity of the judges might help the show to rise against its competition ‘American Idol’. The rating of the former drops to another low at the beginning of the 13th season.
Last Spring, The Voice was able to beat Idol in terms of young adults fans by just 5% (about 14.2 million to 15 million), which wins them the Emmy.
Levine praises Idol for helping to create some of the best singers today like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, but added that he prefers The Voice.
Shakira noted that The Voice is different with Idol, in a sense that the judges do more than just judging talents as they try to help them grow to become a better performer. The judges of The Voice are artist themselves so they know what their talents are experiencing.
Despite the fact that The Voice hasn't been able to create a major star, they encourage their talents to pursue a singing career.
Each of the judges was asked about who they look up to as a kid.
Adam Levine answered that Pearl Jam has some influenced on him since they do things their own way. Also the Beatles is also influential since they are not afraid to experiment and went on to different directions.
For Blake Shelton, it was Reba McEntire as she grew up in the same area that Blake was born.
Shakira don’t have a role model when she was growing up. She did fancy some artists like Nirvana, Zeppelin and Depeche Mode, but she knew that won’t be her genre when she would become a singer.
Usher has a lot of inspiration. Some of them are dead, but most are still living. The likes of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and many more influenced him to become what he is now.
