America's Most Wanted is an American television program that airs on the Fox Network. This program was started in February of 1988 and has since become the longest running program on Fox. America's Most Wanted was narrated by Don LaFontaine for 1988-2008; Don died in September of 2008. Since then this show has been narrated by voice actor Wes Johnson. The show is hosted by John Walsh; he was selected to host this show in 1988. Walsh knows all too well what criminals can do in; 1981 his six-year-old son was kidnapped and murdered. Episodes center on criminals who have committed rapes, child molestation, armed robbery, murder, etc. Their profile is shown and their story is told, and viewers are asked to please contact the Law if they have any information as to the whereabouts of the criminal. So far America's Most Wanted has helped in the successful capture of over 1100 criminals. If you have any tips you can call the hotline number which is 1-800-CRIME-TV, there you will be greeted by a helpful operator who will take down all information you have to offer. Programs like this always made sense to me; they are not like the regular junk you find on television. The television was invented so that information could be shared across a wide area with virtually no problem. Today most of this tech is used to send garbage into people's homes; programs like America's Most Wanted do their best at evening out the score. I not saying that there is no place for entertainment, but somehow it seems that entertainment has gone to the dogs. For example crime dramas used to try and be as realistic as possible, now you have programs like CSI which are totally trashy and do not live up to their name. But you do not have to worry about this when watching America's Most Wanted, this program is not only helpful it is very entertaining. Overall I give them a 9/10, the creators of this show do a great job not only in putting the show together, but also in helping law enforcement officers catch the bad guys and put them behind bars where they belong. So swing over to the Fox Network and check out this program for yourself, who knows maybe you will be able to help solve one of the crimes and make this country a better place.
