Cheryl Cole made it through stardom because through her singing career. Afterwards, she becomes a judge on X Factor before she got fired by Simon Cowell in the US branch of the Fox Network talent show.
But it seems to be that having a famous aunt, can become a downfall for their relatives in the talent show as Cole’s niece got dropped the X Factor.
Melissa Armstrong got furious when she was told that she didn’t make it to the next stage.
The blonde wannabe has revealed that the producers made a promised that they will give her at least a showing - but suspects that because her aunt's signed as a guest mentor at the judge's houses meant her audition lay on the cutting room floor.
Reports said that the X Factor hopeful impressed judges at the Newcastle trials earlier this year.
However, she got disappointed when the auditions round ended on Sunday without her audition being shown.
There were reports that Melissa got a split decision from the judges.
Both Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger aid yes, but the blonde failed to get the approval of both Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos.
Tulisa claimed that the wannabe had a sweet voice but she still give her a no, before adding ‘this is going to make it awkward when I next see Cheryl’.
When asked about the incident, an angry Melissa said: "I have no idea what's going but it doesn't look like I am going to appear."
Melissa claims producers assured her that her version of Cheryl's ‘Promise This’ would definitely be shown, and her friends and family believe there is another reason for her omission from the show.
Shortly sooner than the final audition programmes, it got revealed that Cheryl would be coming back to the contest to help Gary Barlow select his finalists at Judges' Houses.
According to The Sun newspaper, Melissa’s friends and families are fuming to find out that Melissa's audition has been scrapped.
‘We can't believe it. She gave a really good performance and believed she would be featured in the audition shows.’
'But after it was announced Cheryl was making her surprise comeback, it all went quiet, I wonder why that is?’
'If anything, Melissa is a better singer than Cheryl. It's so unfair.'
In an article of the Daily Mirror back, in July, Melissa talked about her experience during the show, she said: 'I queued up for 11 hours from 2.30 in the morning, wrapped in a blanket.'
