Despite winning the £500,000 reward for her trainer Ashleigh Butler, the latter didn’t treat her dog to a feast fit for a king; instead she bought some dog-friendly gym equipment.
Reports claimed that Ashleigh spent £500 of the reward money on a treadmill. It is claimed that the Pup Idol gained weight during their time on the reality show.
For the moment, Pudsey won’t be seeing any of his favorite ham and cheese. Both foods were used to train Pudsey during their time on the ITV show. Ashleigh is serious on getting her pet back in shape.
According to The Mirror, the dog has piled on six pounds in recent weeks. After winning the reality show, Pudsey got treated with pieces of steak and other fatty meats.
A source told the newspaper that Pudsey manage to keep his weight by spending time doing an hour of freestyle exercises in the past.
However, he got a lot of treats during the live shows, practice and photo shoots. Fans were also eager in giving him food.
Though, Pudsey has been overeating for the past weeks, he will surely burn it off with the help of the new gym equipment.
At first, the doggy treadmill wasn’t in the mind of Ashleigh of the things she wants to buy with the prize money.
The teenager got a plan to buy a caravan for her mother, and also a new sparkly lead for her number one pet.
However, she then bought the treadmill after noticing that her favorite pet is getting fat. Pudsey needs to be in better shape before the Royal Variety Performance which takes place later this year.
However, there will be other things to do before they perform in front of the Queen. First Ashleigh will take her AS Level exams, and then heading to Hollywood with Pudsey.
In the U.S., Ashley discusses some possible film roles with their agent Jonathan Shalit.
This will not be the first time that Pudsey will be among celebrities since he already met Kanye West and Kim Kardashian during an appearance on Alan Carr's Chatty Man TV show.
However, Take That singer Gary Barlow is his biggest fan among the celebrities.
The singer shared a picture of himself along with the pup idol when he bumped into the pair in a corridor of a TV studio, with the caption: 'And look who I met.'
Aside from Barlow, Pudsey has also had his photo taken with singer Nelly Furtado and former X Factor twins Jedward.
