This American crime drama series first aired on the
Fox Network in late 2005 and has since gained about 10 million viewers per episode. Bones has run for four complete seasons and is now in its fifth season; this show has also been renewed for a sixth season. Each episode of Bones lasts for about 43 minutes without commercial breaks and airs 8pm E time and 7pm C time.
Bones is basically about a team of FBI agents who solve crimes which relate to bones. These cases are hard for other agencies in the area to solve because there is little or no evidence present other then the bones of victims. There are several main characters from the show, but the two that stand out the most are Dr. Temperance Brennan aka Bones and Seeley Joseph Booth. Dr Bones is a very intelligent forensic anthropologist, but always seems to have a problem relating to other people well. Special Agent Booth is almost the opposite; he relates to people well, but he was a former US Army Ranger working in the sniper division, here he acclimated over 52 confirmed kills.
Although the show has been very successful it has not been nominated for many awards; this is probably because it is just like everything else out there. Do not get me wrong this can sometimes be a good thing; if there is a proven way to make a successful show why deviate from the plan? There are so many innovative shows out there that are nothing but junk; so I think
Fox made a smart move by not sending this show over the top.
Even though this show is set in Washington, D.C. bones is filmed in Century City, Los Angeles, California; a set was specially built for this show in a warehouse at this location. Only one episode was filmed elsewhere; the premiere episode of the 4th season was filmed on location in London.
Bones is your normal crime investigative show; there is nothing too special about this show, it carries everything like the rest: action, suspense, and light hearted humor. One thing I do like about this show is that you can watch it with the whole family; the action is not over the top and most of the show takes place inside a crime lab environment, so you do not have to worry about your children being traumatized by this show.
If you have some time to kill tune into the
Fox Network and check out Bones.
