Fans know how shy Jahmene Douglas is, this had been proven when she was performing on stage. But recently a video has surfaced about Jahmene Douglas walking up to a group of buskers and asking to sing with them. The said video was taken by a bystander in the city centre of Swindon about three years ago. The bystander claimed that Jahmene was shopping with his mother in his hometown in 2009, when they tripped across a group of buskers called Mr Woodnote and The Bonobo Hobos. An audience yelled how they love him to see him perform and his mother did the same to convinced the shy singer to sing. Jahmene was finally convinced and singing with the group as a crowd gathered to hear his voice. The ITV2 talent show contestant impressed the judges’ right after his first audition with his version of Etta James's At Last. The video shows how talented the guy is even before he joined the X Factor. The shy youngster was seen in the video belting out high notes in his signature high-pitched voice. Though, Jahmene was singing in broad daylight, there was no trace of shyness on him when he was performing on the street. But the audience who had seen him performed on the street said; there were some nerves visible before the performance. 'Jahmene did seem shy when he came up to the guys, but the second he grabbed the microphone it all changed.' During the bootcamp, Jahmene suffered from a panic attack before his performance and needed to ease the nervousness. This made judges Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh go backstage and give him a pep talk, after which he went back to the stage and sang his heart out to the delight of the judges and the crowd. Despite the fact that Jahmene made it to the live show, the judges still have doubts about the young singer's stage nerves. 'We have a lot of stuff we need to work with him on and it’s not his voice. Everything else is holding him back,' said mentor Nicole. Tulisa added: 'He needs lots of support, lots of care, make him feel confident, because imagine the live shows.' And even Gary raised his concerns. 'This show is tough love, it is. Because I tell you what, these contestants, they’re on Twitter; they’re being written about in the papers, it’s really hard,' he said. 'If this is what he’s like at this point I would worry.' But based from the new videos that have appeared, Jahmene might just be able to rise above his stage fright. And talking to the Daily Star after his first audition, the 21-year-old promised to work on it, as well. 'I won't be distracted, I can handle things,' he said. 'I prayed before the audition; it calmed me down, and I will continue to pray.'
