When looking for quality news you will want to check
Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) News.
CBS News is a division of CBS and they broadcast all major news stories on eleven different programs featured throughout the day. CBS is available in the United States via cable and satellite television providers.
CBS Morning News starts at 4:30am and runs till 5:00am and is anchored by Michelle Gielan. Timing is almost perfect because most working adults are getting up around this time to go to work. I do find the programming to be very informative for a 30 minute broadcast and recommend you check them out.
Like its competitors
Good Morning America and
the Today show, the Early show is a live action news/talk show and runs for two hours. The Early Show comes on at 7:00am, ends at 9:00am, and is hosted by Harry Smith, Maggie Rodriguez, Julie Chen, Russ Mitchell, and Dave Price. The Saturday Early Show is hosted by another set of hosts: Chris Waragge, Lonnie Quinn, and Erica Hall, but is not shown in some regions. The Early show was launched in late 1999 making it younger then its competitors but has still been able to gain a foothold in the Television industry.
I could talk about many of the other programs on CBS News, but 60 Minutes is by far the defining program of CBS News. 60 Minutes is one of the best investigative programs on television today. They have launched hundreds of successful investigations on companies and often air exciting scientific discoveries from around the world. It is not surprising that 60 Minutes was the top show for 23 seasons, something that has only been surpassed by All in the Family and The Cosby Show.
Yes I could go on talking for hours about how great CBS is, but I am going to end by saying: if 60 Minutes was the only show on CBS it would be still worth watching.
