Chuck is an American comedy spy drama which premiered on
NBC in September of 2007 and has currently been on air for 3 seasons as of 2010. This is by far one of the funniest shows on
NBC and I was very disappointed when the show was suspended due to the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. But after the strike was over the show came back bigger and better with a full season containing 22 episodes.
NBC has been trying a lot of new things with this show, for example in 2007 a special 3D episode was aired; as with most 3D shows/movies this one received mixed reaction from viewers. During the first hour of this test episode the show received over 7 million viewers, but I guess these viewers got sick of it because the viewership dropped to just under 3 million during the second hour.
The plot for Chuck goes something like this: Chuck is your average nerd; he works for an electronics store named Buy More (Best Buy parody) specifically in their Nerd Herd (Geek Squad parody) division. One day a rouge CIA agent breaks into the government's information database and steals all their info, he then sends this info to chuck in the form of an email. The unsuspecting Chuck opens the email and is instantly downloaded with all this information, but to make matters worse the rouge agent wipes the database clean in an attempt to escape. So now Chuck is the only person alive with this vital information, the problem is he cannot access it whenever he wants to, the information is locked away in his mind unless he goes through serious emotional stress. Only then does it kick in and sometimes this can be a huge problem, for example if somebody is play fighting with him and he does not want play along the information may kick in enabling him to dispatch of the person in one move. Since Chuck has all their information; the government has decided to "force" him to help them with their deferent national and international problems and most of the times Chuck is not happy about this.
Overall I think Chuck is a great show. This is the type of "drop dead" comedy that I will watch, and I'm not just saying this alone; millions of Americans agree with me. So go check out this show for yourself; just leave the 3D episodes alone, unless you like headaches and junk like that.
