Craig Kilborn was born on the 24th August 1962. His full name is Craig Anthony Marcus Kilborn and he is loved by America for being an 'all rounder'. Craig acts as well as being a comedian and a talk show host.
He was born in Kansas City and raised just out side of Minneapolis. During high school he played basketball and left school with a whole host of honors and a scholarship to
Montana State University.
Craig started out his showbiz career as a play by play radio announcer for the Savannah Sprits. He did this for a year in 1986. His first TV presenting job came about for KCBA as a sports anchor.
In 1993 he gained a job as a SportsCentre anchor on the ESPN network. He was successful in this role and did the part for a total of 3 years. He gained most of his fan following and reputation as the anchor for the late broadcast and he actually returned to present on the show in 2004 for EPSN's 25th Anniversary of their first broadcast.
Kilborn is probably most well known for being a host on Comedy Centrals, "The Daily Show". He presented this up until the 17th December 1998 until it was cancelled. Afterwards he went on to replace Tom Snyder at
CBS with a talk show called
The Late Late Show.
'With Craig Kilborn' was Produced by
David Letterman's production company and broadcast after Letterman's The Late Show. Kilborn continued to host this show for five years right up until 2004 when he left in the August of that year after deciding to carry on his career writing and producing over TV shows.
Craig has also appeared in a number of motion pictures in recent years. The first was a small role in a film called Old School and since then has appeared in other films such as: The Benchwarmers, Cursed, Full of It, The Shaggy Dog and The Great Duseldorfer.
As Kilborn has been seen all over the TV both on sports networks and mainstream Craig has really carved up a career for himself and become one of most recognizable faces on American television. He has a medium amount of success in films and is planning to keep up acting in the hope of carving out a career in movies as well.
