After being left with a broken arm when he battled Goliath in the ring, David Haye suffered a nasty bite from a bandicoot on Friday’s episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
When David took on the Well Of Hell in tonight's bushtucker trial he had his hand bitten by the creature while he was trying to collect some stars.
The 32-year-old had attempted to move the bandicoot as he searched for a star while mealworms were being dropped over his head before he was attacked.
In the trial, David was forced to go into darkness as he stood inside a bucket which was lowered further into the ground.
As always, David was given 10 minutes to complete the task, David had to retrieve a total of three stars that had been split in half in order to get three meals for the camp.
Following the klaxon sounded; Haye's first hole contained yabbies, which feels slightly uncomfortable he said: 'I felt some sharp little claws like some sort of lobster.'
Next, he had to find the second half of the stars in the nest of scorpions. The third piece was hidden along with a small crocodile, which he has to move in order to get the piece.
For the fourth piece, he was bitten by a bandicoot as he was reaching for the piece. The bandicot must have mistaken his hand for a ‘little rat'.
And before he could react, the Peramelemorphia was already aggressive, letting out a cry, Haye said: 'It’s really going to work on my hand what the hell is that, I’ve got bite marks, thanks for that.'
But yet again, David had proven that he was victorious as he got his star and he hit the next level he quipped: 'hopefully the critters don’t get any worse than that one.'
David manages to collect all six stars in just five and a half minutes.
Upon completion of the trial, David revealed that he got bitten by a bandicoot, to which the presenter said: 'He didn’t like you in his hole did he? He has had a good lunch on that.'
David replied: 'He did, but it was a small price to pay for dinner. I knew you were going to crank it up today and make it hard and putting that bandicoot in there was definitely a good start.'
David was glad to have taken the challenge since he doesn’t want the other castmates to undergo the trial. He knew that it would be impossible for the girls to get through the challenge.
'I’m glad it was me and not the girls who did this, they wouldn't have liked this one bit, they wouldn’t have liked that ferret or whatever it was that bit me, plus I have a neck and back that’s been bitten up by cockroaches and worms.'
He continued: 'Food is in short supply right now and with Charlie as the new head chef I had to bring something home for girls. It’s going to be strange doing the cooking, so we’ve upgraded Charlie to head chef.'
