Denise Van Outen is set to be dancing the Charleston, Foxtrot and Waltz over the next few weeks as she tries to impress the judges in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom.
But the 37-year old musical theatre star explained her taste for the roaring twenties goes beyond the decade's dance crazes while she was on her way to the rehearsals rocking a 1920s fedora.
In the past, the felt hat was known as the main item for mobsters and gangsters, but now it’s just a fashionable choice for both men and women.
The mulberry hat adds a dash of colour to the mother-of-one's neutral outfit, which is a stark contrast to the rails of ultra feminine dresses and costumes Denise is going to have her pick of on the show.
Denise wore a black tuxedo jacket, an oversized white T-shirt with a tiger motif and a pair of black leggings, the TOWIE narrator seemed to be prepared to dance the male parts in her Strictly routine.
But, we can’t deny that her bubbly dance partner James Jordan - who is notorious for getting angry with the judges on the prime-time TV show - may have something to say about that.
The stage school trained actress has been informing everyone who'll listen how much fun she and her partner are having in the show so far: 'We are very mischievous and naughty but we are having so much fun.'
But her professional dance partner fears that his reputation may affect their chances: 'James says it’s not really a dancing competition but a popularity contestant and he’s worried because he thinks he isn’t that popular with viewers.'
'But I’m hoping to get the whole of Essex behind me.'
Recently, Denise claimed that she have the right to participate in the show since she isn’t the only one with the advantage on the show, when DJ Chris Evan that they shouldn’t let Denise take part of the show because she is a professional dancer.
On his BBC Radio 2 show, the DJ said: 'Should Denise Van Outen be allowed to appear on Strictly as she’s appeared in a musical actually dancing?'
However, Denise claimed that she isn’t as good as before since she 'hasn't dance properly for 15 years'. She then rated her dancing ability at 'four out of ten' and claiming she can only do 'the basics' of dance.'
Though the presenter had little makeup on her face, she still manages to put a smile on her face for the waiting paps before driving off to the dance studios.
Earlier this week, she claimed that she was sick. On Monday she tweeted: 'I've got a stinking cold. GRRR.'
She isn’t; the only one who have gotten the flu as the illness seems to be making it's way round a lot of the contestants.
Last week, it was Olympic gymnast Louis.
Dani Harmer was the only guy who has been stricken by the flu in the BBC One competition.
