Biographical and Early Life Information
Erin Isabelle Burnett was born on July 2nd 1976 and is thirty three years of age. She was born and raised in Mardela Springs, Maryland. Her other names are Maria 2.0 and Street Sweetie. She attended St. Andrews School in Middletown, Delaware. Erin then later on attended Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. She studied political science and economics while attending this university and successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy. She actively played lacrosse and field hockey for the college. She is currently a news anchor and a prolific journalist who has made valuable coverages and reports.
Career Commencement
Erin began her career in 1998 by working as a financial analyst for Goldman Sachs in their investment banking division. As an analyst, she worked specifically on mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance. She was approached by CNN while still working as an investment and financial analyst. CNN were interested in her and wanted her services, as result of this, she was offered a position as a writer and booker. This allowed her to work for CNN's moneyline alongside Lou Dobbs, Stuart Varney and Willow Bay.
After a successful spell at CNN, she moved to Citigroup. She served as its vice president as well as Citimedia. As the vice president she was responsible anchoring all of Citigroup online financial news network.
However, this was short lived and in 2003, she accepted a position at Bloomberg Television. She was the anchor of "Bloomberg on the markets", covering the stock markets and the news makers interviews. She also hosted another segment, "in focus", where she broke down the day's top business story
She is currently a host at
CNBC.
Life At CNBC
Burnett's official career at CNBC kicked start in 2005. She is the current host of CNBC's Street Signs. Since hosting this show the ratings increased by up to 57% in the adults' 25-54 demographic regions. She is the co-anchor of Squawk on the Street and this also shows her debut in 2005. The shows ratings also soared through the roof with ratings of up to 142% over the first quarter of 2006 among the adults.
She has also been a featured guest on numerous shows such as Meet the Press and other
NBC programs.
However, there are some comments that she made concerning some Australian's plans to cull feral camels in the Outback.
She cleared the air by claiming that it was a joke.
