Aaron Kelly is a product of the reality show American Idol is going to headline a show Oct. 22 at the Stockdale Fire Hall.
Charleroi mayor Nancy Ellis says their pleased to introduce Aaron to his many fans in the Mon Valley and southwestern Pennsylvania. For them, Aaron is one of the rising young stars on the national music scene. The concert expected to be a successful night for the area.
Walter Stelma of Charleroi is chairman of the organizing committee behind the event and his daughter, Michelle Tegtmeier, is the liaison coordinator with Aaron Kelly.
The concert is going to benefit Unity - A Journey of Hope, a group that grants wishes to adults 18 years of age and older, and Friends of the Coyle, a civic organization that got involved in an attempt to restore the Coyle theater in Charleroi.
Friends of the Coyle do not have any connection with the Mon Valley Cultural Trust, but somehow, they are working on a common goal.
Kelly, 18, who finished fifth on the ninth season of Fox network talent search reality contest, is going to be joined by his band, The 2nd South.
Aside from the band of Aaron, another band that will be performing during the event is the Steeltown, a Pittsburgh-based country rock band.
The door to the concert area will open at 6 p.m.
Tickets for adult cost as much as $20 in advance and can be bought for $25 at the door the night of the concert. Tickets for children below 16 are $10 and for children under 10, $5.
Tickets can also be bought at Maple Creek Distributors in Charleroi.

The event is going to include a special section on the fire hall assigned for those who like to bring their own alcoholic beverage. There will be some refreshments like soda, water, sandwiches and pizza.
Kelly, a native of Davenport, Fla., who live in Sonestown, Sullivan County, and works out of Nashville, haven started singing at the age of 9. He have performs his songs at festivals and fairs and open for such acts as Charlie Daniels, Loretta Lynn, Emerson Drive, Bill Anderson and The Marshall Tucker Band.
Du to his strong performances during season nine of American Idol, Kelly is one of the lucky few who got chosen to participate in the American Idols Live Tour 2010 with Siobhan Magnus, Tim Urban, Katie Stevens, Andrew Garcia and Didi Benami.
