Gregory Kinnear was born on the 17th June 1963. He is probably best known for his movie roles including his part in As Good As It Gets for which he won an Academy Award.
Born in Indianna he doesn't come from a showbiz family, his mother was a homemaker and his father was a government employee that worked for the U.S. State Department.
Kinnear has moved around quite a lot in his early life as a child and never settled in one place for too long. Whilst living in Athens he attended the American Community Schools and while during this time Gregory got his first role and lucky break of talk show host with his radio show entitled School Daze With Greg Kinnear.
With his new vigor for broadcasting, Kinnear then returned to the United States and in 1985 he went to the University of Arizona. He graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism.
He then went on for a brief spell as a presenter of a game show, this was short lived and he moved on. This was the spin off from a kids' show called Fun House which was later titled College Mad House but both versions were very short lived on TV. He went on from this to create the Best of The Worst Show in which he was co-executive producer and host. When this ended in 1991 he went on to be the host of the Talk Soup show which he worked on for 4 years. Kinnear left this show for a great opportunity to present his very own - The Late with Greg Kinnear for the
NBC network.
It was in 1994 that Kinnear landed his first film role. He was as a TV host in comedy film Blankman. The year after his debut he played David in the film Sabrina. The then went onto play a role in Comedy Dear God. It was his role in comedy-drama in 1997 that he received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Other films to his credit include - A Smile Like Yours, You've Got mail, Mystery Men, Nurse Betty, Loser & Someone Like You.
Later this year he is going to be staring in The Last Song alongside Miley Cyrus.
Kinnear has been married since 1999 to Helen Labdon, she is a former page three model. They have 2 daughters and Helen is currently pregnant with their third child.
He has spent a lot of his life in the spotlight but it is Kinnears stints in films that have really gone onto help him make a name for himself. He is now a well recognized celebrity in the United States and often appears with news in celebrity gossip columns etc.
