Hannity is a spinoff of the popular Fox show Hannity & Colmes. This show was created after the co-host of Hannity & Colmes (Alan Colmes) decided to leave the show to pursue other things. Hannity is hosted by Sean Hannity that is where the show gets its name- and has remained one of the top viewed shows on the Fox News Channel receiving over 2.9 million viewers per night. The show usually features guests who are interviewed by Sean Hannity and most of the topics discussed revolve around politics. Since Sean Hannity is a conservative, you can expect strong conservative views to be expressed on the show by him and a lot of his guests. This is typical of most shows on The Fox News Channel, being the conservative alternative to mass media that it is. Unlike other shows out there Hannity actually gives a balance to politics, I think this is mainly because of the influence Alan Colmes had on its mother show Hannity & Colmes. Most other tv networks only carry shows and hosts who agree with all their agendas, but with Fox you can expect diversity of things. This is one of the reasons conservatives and liberals alike tune into Fox every evening to watch Hannity. It gives you something you will not find anywhere else. This show has not gone without controversy or criticism. In mid 2009 Sean Hannity was chastised by watchdog groups for incorrect statements he made about President Obama's Cash for Clunkers program, and again in late 2009 for showing two year old footage of a major "tea party" protest instead of showing the correct footage which contained a lot less people. Sean apologized shortly after; stating that they were "inadvertent mistakes". Whether these were mistakes or not I have to give him credit for his swift apology, because most show hosts do not apologize for the "mistakes" they make even when they are pointed out to them. I really think this is a good show; the topics discussed on here are very relevant to our times, but this is a news commentary and should always be treated as such. Since this program is not presented as news Sean is free to express his views to the fullest, and he does so every night. So, if you are looking for a different view point then what most media outlets show today; check out Hannity. Fox News Live Fox News review Fox Sports
