Every television network needs a superhero drama; there is just so many great ways the story can go when you have charaters with superpowers running around.
NBC knows this and they decided to come out with the best show since superman; Heroes. Since this shows came out in late 2006 Heroes has gained international fame and has collected a horde of awards and nominations from award companies such as: The Emmy Awards, Golden Globes, People Choice Awards, and British Academy Television Awards. It is no wonder why millions of Americans tune into
NBC to watch this program.
Heroes is basically about normal citizens who find out they have superpowers, and as you can bet they run into many situations; mostly bad. For example, in season two the Heroes had to stop a deadly strain of virus from being released upon mankind and season three saw the introduction of villains and fugitives, some of who are bent on world distraction. Unlike a lot of superhero shows; Heroes is not afraid to use a lot of comical elements in their show, guns, bullets, and tons of special effects are perfectly normal when it comes to Heroes.
Any comic book fan will instantly recognize the story set up of heroes. The story for most comic books starts out with the characters not knowing that they have superpowers, when they do find out, they face many challenges and most of the times they have to fight just to stay alive. Heroes features a similar story arc and with each new season there is the introduction of a new problem which must be resolved before the end of the season, most of the times the problem is one of national or international importance giving heroes its fictional comic book feel.
Very few shows live up to my expectations when it comes to action; I grew up on comic books so a show has to be real good in order for me to recommend it. You can trust me 100% when I say that heroes is great, if you have not seen any of the seasons I suggest you go out and buy them, then when you are finished check out the new episodes on
NBC. I may not be much for
NBC.'s political junk or their reality shows, but I've got to give them credit; they came up with a pretty darn good show; Heroes is the best!
