Fans of the ITV reality show, X Factor recently had a glimpse of Cheryl Cole, but the later revealed that she was there to support his friend and X Factor judge Gary Barlow.
When Simon Cowell tweeted 'Welcome back Cheryl'. The former X Factor had written: 'I saw Simon's tweet. I'm not doing this for him. I am doing this for Gary as he's my friend and he asked me to do it.'
Over the weekend, Cheryl was pictured with her friend Gary Barlow arriving by helicopter at the vast Boughton House estate in Northamptonshire to help the Take That star choose which of his contestants to take through to the live finals.
The Girls Aloud singer is very qualified to help Barlow as Cheryl was a former judge of X Factor.
Cheryl wore a monochrome ensemble and high heels when she arrived at the estate, sporting a T-shirt shaped blouse and a pencil skirt. She completed her look with a high bun on top of her head, oversized sunglasses and plum-coloured lips.
Gary thanked his friend on Twitter, saying: 'Thank you @CherylCole for all your help this weekend. The contestants and I loved having you there xx. (sic)'
Fans were shocked to see Cheryl alongside Gary since they were expecting Robbie Williams is going to be the guest mentor.
However, Robbie will instead host a masterclass for this year's throughout the live audition rounds; also be performing live on the show to promote his forthcoming solo album.
Singer Ne-Yo will be assist Nicole Scherzinger choose between the Boys in Dubai, Tinie Tempah is teaming up with Tulisa so that she could pick the Girls in the Caribbean and Louis Walsh will be joined by another ex-judge, Sharon Osbourne, to choose between the groups in Las Vegas.
Reports claimed that Simon Cowell didn’t have any clue about the whole thing as Gary conceal his mentor choice from X Factor boss Simon Cowell.
It was so hidden that everyone thought that Robbie would be the surprise mentor.
Gary apparently convinced Cheryl to agree to the show as the two stars talked about it over a drink after their duet at the Buckingham Palace concert he organized in June for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Recently, Cheryl told Jonathan Ross that she might have a contact with Simon, but they were not friends.
She said: 'I do talk to him every now and again. We're frenemies.'
