Isis King, the first transgender that joins America’s Next Top Model in Cycle 11 is going back to the show as one of the few celebrities who will compete for the 17th season of the show.
The 25 year old model, Isis is going to be one of the 14 celebrity models, who are going to compete with other celebrities to earn the title shot as ‘America’s Next Top Model’. She got picked as one of the hopefuls since she is one of the most memorable models in the past contests. The show will start Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 9 pm and can be watched on The CW network.
King’s manager Delano excited upon knowing that her talent is one of the few models who will go back to America’s Next Top model (Celebrity Edition). The talent manager honored to know that Tyra herself says that her talent is the most talk about model in the history of the show.
The news is a surprise for her longtime fans, since she already mentioned that she is going to retire from the modeling industry. She wants to pursue her dream on becoming successful with arts.
Back in November 2010, she told reporters that she is doing modeling just for fun, but her real passion is with arts. Despite being a model, she never dreamt of becoming a supermodel. Being a model is like blank canvass. Since, she manages to get to where she is right now then she is already an entity. She is not going to come back from being just a canvass.
During those times, King has an acting job in the film, “Bella Maddo.” She also got interested on working as a makeup artist and hair stylist.
She knows that she is exceptionally creative and has personality. However, modeling has halted that dream as she can not prove that in the show.
She met a fellow transgender, Marci Bowers after her stint in the reality show ANTM, she guessed twice on ‘The Tyra Banks Show’. Bowers is a surgeon, who offers her service to King for free as they become friends and they are so much alike since they are both transgender. On her second appearance on Banks’ TV show, she was introduced as a complete woman.
King programmed to participate in the approaching Baltimore Fashion Week. Back in June, she signed a contract that will let her attend the event as a front-row guest on Aug. 19. She is going to model clothing lines for numerous designers the following two nights. Baltimore Fashion Week runs Aug. 18-21.
