Jacqueline 'Jackie' Johnson is an American weather forecast and television personality for the KCBS-TV at 5, 6 and 11 PM in Los Angeles, California. She was the primetime weather anchor fro the KCAL 9 news when she became KCBS weeknight weather anchor. Jackie was a sub for Dave Price on the CBS The Early show. She joined KCAL 9 and sister station
CBS 2 in October 2004 and serves as KCAL 9s weather caster on the station's weeknight 8. 9 and 10 p.m news casts.
Jackie was born in January 23, 1980 in Plymouth, Michigan and attended the university of South Alabama concentrating in Meteorology. She graduated from Middle Tennessee state university with a degree in broadcast journalism. She lives in Los Angeles, California. She has worked with WCTV-TV from 200 to 2001, WSVN-TV from 2001 to 2004 and KCBS-TV/KCAL-TV from 2004 up to the present time.
She attended the university of Southern Alabama concentrating on meteorology then went to Tennessee State university to get her degree in broadcast journalism. Her first TV appearance was in 2000 and her first story was 2000 presidential elections. She was voted the 'hottest meteorologist' through an online poll by the Playboy magazine in 2003. She was offered a nude celebrity pictorial in Playboy which she declined. She has also refused to take it off for 'girls gone wild'. She has Scottish and Irish ancestry. In 2006 Los Angeles musician Linus of Hollywood wrote a song about her with the title 'Jackie Johnson'. She is engaged.
Before she goes on air, there are things that she does. Her day begins with checking her mailbox before heading to her desk, she gets ready for the camera and works on her hair she does the curling at home. She then builds her forecast. She examines the latest weather models; she analyzes the data choosing the models that she believes are the most accurate. Jackie is always assisted by her producer Phillip. The Southland's diverse micro-climates makes predicting the weather challenging and fun according to Jackie though it might not rain in Los Angeles.
She builds the weather maps she will use on air. These maps are predetermined. When she is through with the preparations she heads to the KCAL 9 set. She then meets the news producer Jeff to talk about how much time she will have for her segment. When she is set she gets ready to give the viewers the weather forecast. When she gets to the studio the green screen helps her and she has to watch and monitor whether she is pointing to the right maps. She gets ready and timed in order to keep her alert to go on air.
