Right after the top 12 male singers’ performance, a screen door suddenly open, this unveils Jermaine Jones at the back of the door. Jermaine was known as the gentle giant in the competition.
Jermaine got chosen among the other four nominated rejects such as Richie Law, Johnny Keyser and David Leathers Jr.
For the first audience, vote, Jermaine chooses to sing a song about second chances; the Luther Vandross hit Dance With My Father.
Steven Tyler praised the returning contestant following his performance, saying that he has proven why they asked him to go back.
Reed Grimm is the first among the 12 male singers and sung Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger with a jazz twist while playing the drums as part of his routine.
Steven described claimed that it was exceptionally pleasant choice. Randy said that he love the voice, adding that he can do anything with it.
Adam Brock shortly followed afterwards and sung Aretha Franklin’s Think, which Steven dubbed ‘beautiful’.
Deandre Brockensick got some rapturous applause right after he performed the Earth Wind and Fire song Reasons.
Jennifer Lopez told the aspiring singer that his voice is perfect to her, and then added that this year is an remarkable year for him.
Colton Dixon chooses the Paramore song Decode. He performed the song while hitting the piano. Randy compared the singer for the band, saying that he is happy that Colton returned.
Jennifer said that he sang songs that come from the heart, and it gets me every time.
Steven said noted that was the best song for him. Jeremy Rosado impressed the audience with his rendition of Sara Bareilles song Gravity.
Jennifer told Jeremy that some people blessed with a god given voice, and he is one of those people.
If you thought that the three judges already impressed then, you have not seen nothing yet since Aaron Marcellus got a standing ovation from the panel for his performance of Jackson 5’s Never Can Say Goodbye.
Steven claimed that they had raised the bar. Adding that, they are going to expect that he would beat his performance right now next time.
With Jennifer adding that the voice comes from another world.
Aside from the 12 male contestants performing their own rendition of various song. Steven also re-enacted Jennifer’s wardrobe malfunction at the Oscars by tugging his shirt to one side.
Jennifer then said that there was no nipple.
