Abercrombie and Fitch is not happy that the Jersey Shore star is advertising their brand for free.
They are giving money to Mike “The Situation” Sorentino for not wearing their brand of clothing on the Jersey Shore. This is an attempt to stop Mike from advertising their brand for free in the show.
However, his cast mate Pauly D has found out that the same trendy brand that is paying his friend not to wear their shirt is also making money from them. How? Abercrombie and Fitch created a T shirt that has the GTL letters. GTL stands for the Jersey Shore catchphrase 'Gym, Tan and Laundry'.
The DJ even tweeted the picture of the said shirt on his Twitter account. He added that ‘If they do not want us to wear their brand why do they make GTL shirts?’.
Yesterday, the retail company, has released a statement that the proposal is a win-win situation for them.
They said that the cast of the MTV reality show has no right to wear their clothing lines because they are giving the shirt a lousy reputation. They do not want their patron to think that people who wear their shirt are as bad ass as the Jersey Shore’s stars.
They even stated that they understand the show created to entertain, but they believe that this association is contrary to what they want to imply on the people.
Sorentino is going to be paid by the brand clothing apparel if he is not going to wear their clothing line on his show. Instead of wearing their brand, they instructed the jersey Shore star to wear the rival’s brand.
Many are thinking that this is just a publicity stunt for the company as school is about to begin. The publicity would be boosting the popularity of the cloth for students this year.
Based on the CNN report, Abercrombie and Fitch has suffered a 10 percent loss in their stock after the news of their rift with the celebrity has surfaced.
The MTV reality show star spends most of his time bragging about his tight abs by posing in front of the camera, exposing his abs while wearing Abercrombie and Fitch apparel.
However, it is clear that there is discrimination going on here since the apparel company pays Jessica Biel to market their product line. Sorentino, on the other hand, is doing it for free.
It is not only Mike, who has receive such discrimination form Abercrombie and Fitch since the other star of the same reality show felt the blow of the apparel company before.
