John Madden - John Madden, born on 10th April, 1936 is an EX- American Football player in the NFL (National Football League). Austin being his birth place, he was raised in San Francisco, when his parents shifted when he was in his adolescence.

 
 
John Madden, born on 10th April, 1936 is an EX- American Football player in the NFL (National Football League). Austin being his birth place, he was raised in San Francisco, when his parents shifted when he was in his adolescence. His father, Earl Russell Madden was an auto mechanic and mother Mary Margaret Madden, a house wife. He completed his schooling from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and Jefferson High School. John graduated in the year 1954. During his school and college days, John was the finest football player and has achieved many laurels. John was always interested in playing football. He started playing football for his college in Oregon and at San Mateo College. In 1959, he was pursuing his BS in education and was also playing for Mustards both defense and offense, when he was transferred in San Luis Obispo to Cal Poly. He continued to play for them even when he was doing his MA in 1961. For his best ability to tackle offence, he was awarded with an all conference honors. In 1958, NFL's Philadelphia Eagles in round 21st drafted John. After one year after the NFL draft, John during a training session was hurt badly in his knee and he never got a chance to actually play football. After his injury, he returned back in the year 1960 to become a coach for colleges, as an assistant coach. He joined Allan Hancock College, located in Santa Maria. Within a span of two years, John was promoted and he became the head coach at Allan Hancock College. San Diego State, in the year 1963 appointed Madden as a defensive coach. He worked for them for over 3 years. His success was noticed by one and all, his teams were wining most of the teams and following this, in the year 1967 he was hired for AFL's Oakland Raiders as a line backers coach by Al Davis. Oakland Raiders under the supervision of John Madden managed very well to reach the super bowl 2. After two years, in 1969 John became the head coach for Oakland's Raiders. At the age of just 32, he was the youngest coach to be hired for a professional football team. He retired from this position after coaching Oakland's raiders for 10 years and was the only youngest coach who reached 100 season wins. His percentage of winning is ranked at 2nd position in the history of leagues. John then became an analyst and commentator for National Football League. He worked for all the major networks for television for over 29 years. He began his term as an analyst and commentator in 1979 and continued as the same throughout 2008. He retired as an NFL commentator in 2009, after serving for over 30 years. He won 14 Emmy Awards, Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award; he was also introduced in Hall of Fame. John is known for his own distinct style and charm. He is full of like and famous for his interjections. John is terrorized of flying, whenever he used to fly in a plane he always suffered from freight attacks. Madden got married to Virginia Fields in 1959. Presently the couples have two sons, and are living in California.
