Lie to Me is one of the new shows that premiered on the Fox network in 2009. This American television drama was created by Samuel Baum and is currently in its second season, ratings for this show have been pretty good for the two seasons it has been on the air. This is a very good accomplishment because most television shows drop in ratings within their first and second year when they are still trying to figure out what the audience expects of them. Lie to Me is about a group of fictional characters who work at The Lightman Group. In the show this group/company was created by Dr. Cal Lightman; he is a specialist on all things body language. At the facility which he has set up he lends a hand to local and federal agents helping them solve crimes or situations that arise by sharing he knowledge on the subject of body language. The main character Dr. Lightman is played by actor Tim Roth. Tim is supported by actors/actresses Kelli Williams, Brenda Hines, Monica Raymund, Harley McFarland, and Mekhi Phifer who all do a great job. I am sure if this show lasts long enough they will collect awards for their roles. When it comes to objectionable content Lie to Me is pretty average. There is not a lot of swearing or violence but there is still enough to make some parents keep their kids away. Another family value that Lie to Me does not uphold is of course lying. White lies are seen as ok so long as they are not hurting anybody this is especial evident in the episode Tractor Man. In this episode a group of school kids come to visit the facility –I would say more but it would ruin the episode for you- needless to say by the end of the episode they were taught that telling white lies is "OK". But I am not going to go too hard on this show it has far less violence compared to its counterparts. Looking over the complete show I have to say it is pretty good. It is very entertaining; it has enough action and suspense to keep you interested from start to finish. Who knew that a show about a body language specialists would be so interesting? If you are in the mood to check out a new show consider Lie to Me. To watch this show you can either head over to their website at fox.com or tune into the fox network on weekdays.
