The week is filled with tension as The X Factor bosses were accused of manipulating the show. Telling their judge, which one to kicked out of the competition. On Sunday night’s show, the judges seemed to have a little help from their bosses to make up their minds, which prompts a backlash from thousands of viewers who accused the show of becoming ‘The Fix Factor’. One of the live viewers saw a producer whispering in Louis Walsh’s ear during the live sing-off between Carolynne Poole and Rylan Clark, the two acts who finished bottom of the public vote of the ITV show. Minutes shortly, after Mr Clark had stumbled his way through his song and his rival had delivered a polished performance, Walsh was left with the casting vote. Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos had opted to save Miss Poole, while Nicole Scherzinger supported her act. It takes Louis Walsh more than a minute just to draw out his decision. This is despite the pressure coming from host Dermot O’Leary, who was begging him to hurry up. At first, Walsh opted for Miss Poole. But within seconds, he change his mind, instead, giving his vote to Clark, which takes the sing-off to deadlock, where the act with the fewest public votes goes home. The public opted for Rylan so Miss Poole was sent to her home. This prompted Barlow to storm off the set in disgust. Fans who paid to vote for their favourite act via the show’s phonelines also can’t accept the outcome. Around 700 viewers have already criticized media watchdog Ofcom about Mr Walsh’s U-turn, while a further 1,500 got in touched with ITV directly to complain. Many of the viewers took to social networking site Twitter in an effort to reveal the manipulation behind the show by Richard Holloway, the producer who allegedly whispered into Walsh’s ear on the first live results show of the series. Last night, Conservative MP Mark Pritchard, waded into the argument, saying: ‘The X Factor is a huge international success and great entertainment but to stay credible and believable it must remain completely open and transparent.’ Figures for last weekend’s shows were once again lower compared to last year. Some people believe that producers were desperate to keep Clark in despite his talent in singing. The producers want to bring Clark to the live finals since he become popular because of his flamboyant and over-emotional reactions that have been one of the major talking points of the series.
