Having been named as the Woman of the Year by the Communications of South Florida, Michelle Kosinaki started off her career in broadcasting at WIFR in Rockford, Illinois. During this time, though a student at Medill School of Journalism pursuing a BA and MA, she managed to shuffle between work and school at the Northwestern University. Later on, after graduation, she left work at the WIFR and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she worked for WSOC-TV and it was while here that she engineered the Piedmont Bureau. It was also during this time, in 2001 that she was voted as Charlotte's best reporter. After this event, she did not last long in the station since during that fall, she got another offer at WTVJ in Miami and accepted the position.
Later on, while still working at Miami, Kosinaki managed to win another award, the regional Suncoast Amy Award Craft. This was solely for a report she had filed on Haitian Immigrants. She is currently working as a NBC correspondent. Her career here started some years back and in 2005, was named the best NBC correspondent. It is ideal to note that Kosinaki is the, an all round contributor to the news coverage of NBC since she is part of the NBC Nightly News with Brain Williams, she is also part of Today,
MSNBC and
CNBC. Her passion to cover both international and national stories is by large the contributing factor that has ensured she gains popularity.

Other stories that captured the attention of most people and which she also reported extensively include the poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko which occurred in London, the Tech shootings in Virginia and hurricane Katrina effects among others.
Born in 1974 in Cinnaminson New Jersey, Michelle Kosinaki has covered a lot of investigative pieces and this could be the major reason that has lead to her ascent into the broadcasting world. It is also imperative to state that in 2009, she won the national Emmy due to her diligence to report all the events that took place during the election night. This was part of the NBC special election coverage. Other events that she has covered include the KBG spy murder, the 2005 New York City transit strike and the evacuation of Americans on Cyprus and Lebanon among others.
