Nancy O'Dell was born on February 25th 1966, in Sumter, South Carolina and moved to Myrtle Beach when she was still a newborn. O'Dell then pursued her studies in 1984 at the now-closed Coastal Academy High School. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a major in Marketing from Clemson University in 1990. It was in this university that she became a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Her stunning beauty did not go unrecognized because in 1987, O'Dell won the Miss South Carolina pageant. She was then known as Nancy Humphries.
She is married to Keith Zubchevich. She is stepmother to her husband's two sons, Tyler and Carson. She gave birth to their daughter Ashby Grace, on June 11, 2007.
She is currently a television journalist and a presenter.
Career Commencement
O'Dell's career as a television journalist began in 1993, when she joined NBC's WTVJ in Miami as a co-anchor in the 5.30 pm news alongside Jackie Nespral. In 1995, she left the station and moved to Las Vegas with her husband.
In 2004 and 2005, she co-hosted the Miss USA and the Miss Universe competitions. Also, from 2004-2006 she co-hosted the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade on the WNBC station. Together with Drew Lachey and Carlos Ponce, co-hosted the Miss USA 2006 pageant and the Miss USA 2007 pageant with Tim Vincent.
She also featured in many television series and playing minor roles in some like Charmed and the movie Scream 3 in 2000. O'Dell was the host and consulting producer of the USA Network talent competition, Nashville Star.
Recent Co-hosting Shows and Series
She, alongside Billy Bush, presented NBC's 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards. This was on January 13th, 2008. In 2009, she hosted the pre-show of NBC's 66th Annual Golden Globes with Tiki Barber and Brooke Burke.
Some of the television series that she has portrayed herself in include: the episode “cheat it”, season 3, of the Hannah Montana, the sitcom Brothers of Fox. On October 12th 2009, she and Maria Menounos co-hosted WWE Raw.
She co-hosted NBC's entertainment news show Access Hollywood with Billy Bush. Currently, O'Dell is the contributor for NBC's Today Show and Dateline NBC.
However, her progress in the world of entertainment took a slight downfall when she tore her meniscus in the knee, which forced her to withdraw from the eighth season of the show Dancing with the Stars.
