No salary increase for Strictly's presenters for this year - It looks like the presenters of Strictly Come Dancing is not going to have their pay increase this year.

It looks like the presenters of Strictly Come Dancing is not going to have their pay increase this year. Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly will start with the new season of BBC1 dance competition show by September without their payout increase. Sources claimed that the payout increase is still under negotiations. The two are the pioneers of the show as they were already there when the show started. The decisions of BBC have been affected by the amount spent on new talent show The Voice, since the talent show needed £22 million to start with the first season. BBC1 hopes that The Voice can rival Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent, but it does not turn out that way since the new talent search had a rating disaster. Will.i.am, Tom Jones, Jessie J., and Danny O'Donoghue are earning lots of money from the show. Strictly Come Dancing, on the other hand, has proven its worth, but somehow BBC1 is more excited about their new talent show than a show that had been around for a long time. Last December, the dance show competition top its ITV1 contender, The X Factor in the ratings war. The Voice, on the other hand, seems to be falling from the ratings war against its competition. Instead of a pay rise, Miss Daly was offered with a two-year contract worth £250,000 each year. Sir Bruce has been offered a one-year contract so that he would host the live section of the ¬Saturday night programme. It is believed that his salary range to £500,000. A source claimed that the move was part of a wider plan in an effort to slash the BBC's spending on big-name stars after cuts to the £3.4 billion licence fee. The move said to save BBC1 20 percent over the next four years. Last week, Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, who will be joined by former Royal ¬Ballet star Darcey Bussell when the programme returns, got an increase after they sign new contracts. It is believed that they are now receiving six-figure just to take part in the new series. Back when Strictly was just starting, the judges were receiving £17,000 each – the same as the programme's ¬professional dancers. Since they discovered the amount of money that the judges of The Voice receives, the judges of Strictly demanded a payout increase. It can be remembered that Strictly judge Alesha Dixon left the dance talent show because he was offered a bigger payout to host Britain's Got Talent.
