Project Runway Philippines 3rd season is on the looks for new designer from the country. Rumors have it that this would be the biggest contest in the fashion industry. The show is going to held several audition all over the country.
The following venues and dates will be at Pryce Plaza Hotel, Carmen Hill, Cagayan De Oro City on Aug. 20 and 21; Marco Polo Hotel, Lahug, Cebu on Aug. 27 and 28; Hotel Supreme, Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City on Sept. 3 and 4; and at Jungle Gym, Kamagong Street, Makati City on Sept. 6 and 7. The newest season of the show is going to be hosted by model Tweetie de Leon, and it is going to premiere on ETC network in February 2012.
At the press conference of the new show, judge and world-class designer, Rajo Laurel noted that although some of the world best Filipino designers were already making their name all over the world. There is always a need to get some fresh talents on the fashion world. They are going to be the ones, who are going to replace those designers, who are not in the Philippines anymore. That way, the fashion industry in the Philippines would not go down.
The third season of Project Runway: Philippines is going to focus on the distinctiveness of Filipino designers in the international arena. The contestants are going to be tested in 12 challenges, which will determine, who is the best of the best among the contestants. The masterpiece of the winner is going to be worn by models from the Professional Models Associations of the Philippines (PMAP) at the Philippine Fashion Week.
One of the Reporters asked if gay designers are better than heterosexual. Laurel pointed out that women can do something that gays can not do.
A women designer can wear the clothes by themselves, and they also know which part of the body to cover and which ones to hide.
The winner of Project Runway: Philippines 3 is going to be featured in a 10-page fashion distributed by in Mega Magazine, 500,000 pesos cash, 10 units of sewing machines for starting up their sewing business, a short term fashion design course at a leading European Fashion school, a two month apprenticeship with Asian Institute of Fashion’s leading industry fashion designers, and a full scholarship for a four year design program at the Asian Institute of Fashion at iACADEMY.
Also, joining Twittie de Leon and Rajo Laurel in Project Runway: Philippines are Apples Aberin, Jojie Lloren and Henri De Lorme.
