Born on 23rd of June, 1971, Ron Corning started his TV career at WNYW on August 28, 2006. Ron Corning is currently working as a TV host for News 12. He has enjoyed continuous success and a relatively quick climb in his TV career to his current position when he took the opportunity to work as the host for News 12 on 16th of November, 2009. This latest career move meant that Ron Corning was back working with his ex co host partner from WNYW-TV, Jodi Applegate. They worked closely together at WNYW-TV as co-presenters of "Good Day New York".
Prior to the launch of his TV career, Ron Corning graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts. His life in broadcasting started to take shape when he undertook general; assignment reporter responsibilities with broadcasters such as WDTV, Bridgeport, WV's
CBS affiliate. He also took on the role of a part time reporter and presenter at
NBC's partner, WBOY. These positions essentially helped Ron Corning build a solid foundation for a successful career in TV.
He then moved onto work for WTOV in the same capacity as a general assignment reporter. His major break came when he got an opportunity to work for KTV where he spent some time before moving onto working for KCPQ.
The experience at KTV and KCPQ helped Ron Corning excel into his next major role at the national level. He was selected to work as a news anchor for "The Daily Buzz". The American Breakfast show that was watched by millions helped Ron Corning gain more exposure and recognition from the national audience. This led him to eventually assume responsibility as a co-anchor of "World News Now" and "
ABC World News This Morning" in 2004. He continued in this role for a further 2 years and started to earn further recognition and admiration from the American viewers. The People Magazine actually crowned Ron Corning as one of the "most beautiful People". He earned further accolades by being named as one of "The best anchors".
Ron Corning continued in his climb up the career ladder and after being released from "Good Day New York" in 2008 he was appointed as a co –anchor or Jody Applegate again for the New 12.
Ron was welcomed the News 12 Network's president, Patrick Dolan. He commented on Ron's reputation as a respected news anchor and how he was "…delighted to have him join the News 12 Long Island evening anchor team.". Patrick Dolan was also quick to point out the on screen chemistry of Jodi Applegate and Ron Corning and how the viewers would want to see the "great dynamic" of the duo again. This latest move to News 12 for Ron Coning is possibly one of many successful moves on to the national news circuit and far from the local news circuit that he has left behind.
