Ron Fournier was born in 1963. He is a native of Detroit in Michigan. Ron Fournier attended the University of Detroit. Fournier is an American and a political journalist who is employed by the Associated Press. Ron Fourier began his career as a journalist in 1985. He first started journalism in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After about two years Fourier moved to Arkansas Democrat which is in Little Rock, Arkansas. He then stayed back there for another two years before he could join the Little Rock bureau of AP in the year 1989. When he was working there Fourier covered Bill Clinton's final year as the Governor. Later when Bill Clinton was elected as the President of the United States, Ron Fournier moved to the AP's Washington Bureau. In 2004, Ron Fourier left the Associated Press to take up a Harvard Institute of Politics fellowship. It was during this time that Fourier Co wrote a book which was titled Applebee's America along with Matthew Dowd, who was a Republican strategist and also Doug Sosnik, who was a Democratic strategist. In 2006, Fourier took the position of an editor in chief of a then new website which was called Hotsoup.com. This website aimed to foster a lot of discussions on various topics including politics. However this website failed to attract the audience, it was then that Fourier returned back to Associated Press in March 2007, as the online editor of the press, after considering with John Mc Cain's presidential campaign "a senior advisory role". Sometime in May 2008, Ron Fournier was named as the acting Washington bureau chief by replacing his mentor Sandy Johnson. After he took over the position Fourier led a dramatic shift in the policy of Associated Press, and moving it away from the tone which was objective and neutral to a more opinionated style which could make judgments, when ever any conflicting opinion was presented in a story. In 2008, Fourier wrote a widely circulated piece of work titled "Analysis: Bidden pick shows lack of confidence". This was written following the U.S. Senator and the presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama's announcement on August 23, 2008. A columnist from the Washington Monthly described Fourier's piece as a "mirroring the republican with minimal variation" The Editor and Publisher noted that the article by Fournier gained a big linkage at the Drudge Report, Hot Air and various other conservative sites. While the investigators for the House Oversight Committee were deeply looking into the mater of death of Pat Tillman, the actually uncovered an important email from Ron Fourier to Karl Rove where Fourier was encouraging him to keep the fight going on. There were critics like Eric Boehlert who had lambasted Fourier for his apparent bias. Ron Fourier has won a lot of awards in his career like the Society of Professional Journalist'2000 the Sigma Delta Chi Award which was given to him for the coverage of the United States Presidential Election in 2000. Ron Fourier is also a three time proud winner of the White House Correspondent's Association Merriman Smith Award. News Channels
