Shameless is known for being a popular TV series in the UK. Since the popularity of the UK based show grew to new levels, it was only a matter of time before the US series was ready for launch. Of course, the US series has a slightly different twist in comparison, but it still has a similar impact and is great TV for those that like a TV show of a crude nature.
The focus of Shameless TV series is on the Gallagher. They are strange, dysfunctional and certainly not a normal family by any stretch of the imagination. Of course, the Dad of the family is a complete drunk and the parents split up a long time ago. Fiona is the older daughter and takes on a mother like role in an effort to keep the family together rather than allowing them to split themselves apart. Phillip is the oldest son, better known as Lip. He has a talent for physics and in return for tutoring, he obtains sexual favors from the girls in the local area.
The son in the middle is Ian, who has always been gay. He is helped along a lot by the youngest daughter who is Debbie, although she is certainly not an angel. After collecting for UNICEF, she helps herself to the takings. Alongside Debbie is Carl, the mad 10 year old that just loves setting things on fire. Last but not least, there is Liam, the toddler that looks black, although most people do not have a clue how that actually happened.
Most people have suggested how the US version of Shameless copies the UK version. The reality is that it was always going to be doing that, just some minor adjustments in order to make it a better viewing experience for US viewers. One thing is for sure though, all the parts in the new US Shameless are structured well and they make the most out of their acting skills by playing the parts as they really should be. The storyline can be related to on some levels by most viewers, which is one of the reasons why this show is considered to be one of the best at the moment.
Overall Shameless offers a new viewing experience. Although it is not entirely unique, it is certainly different in comparison to the majority of similar shows and it is easy to see why viewers can easily be roped in and become addicted.
