People might see a former supermodel, two Olympians and the captain of the first England cricket team to win the Ashes in 18 years, in this years’ Strictly Come Dancing competition.
Despite producers of the show hiding the identities, Mail Online claims they knew the identity of the celebrities participating on the BBC1 dancing show competition.
Yesterday, the 14 stars finally make an appearance at the Royal Academy of Dance in Battersea, South-West London, for the first day of rehearsals.
Their faces were hidden in a mask that resembles the face of Strictly’s veteran presenter Bruce Forsyth and their hoods pulled to low, but the trick can’t hide their identities.
The Texan-born former supermodel Jerry Hall was among the first one who arrive. Hall was the former wife of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, whose elegant 6ft frame was obvious in black-and-white striped top and navy trousers as she waved to fans.
Following her was former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, who gave the game away immediately when he introduces himself to his fellow contestant, Tracy Beaker actress Dani Harmer.
Speaking in his distinctive Yorkshire accent, Vaughan said: ‘Hi, I’m Mike.’ The 37-year-old, who led England to victory in the 2005 Ashes, is an early tip for series victor.
If he is been named the winner of this year’s dance competition, then this would be the third time that cricketers won the show. The first two cricketers who won the show were Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash. Gough claimed the crown back in 2005, and the other won the competition in the next year.
Hall is expected to inject some glamour into the tenth-anniversary series, together with former Big Breakfast host Denise Van Outen and Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh.
Meanwhile, Britain’s Olympic team is going to be embodied by cyclist Victoria Pendleton, and gymnast Louis Smith, who both brought home two medals from London 2012.
Later that day, former This Morning host Fern Britton, Westlife star Nicky Byrne, former Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, Daybreak showbiz editor Richard Arnold, and ex-EastEnder Sid Owen, who played Ricky Butcher in the BBC1 soap soon followed.
Joining them was former children’s television presenter Johnny Ball, whose daughter Zoe was a 2005 contestant and now introduces Strictly spin-off series It Takes Two.
However, the 14th lineup was still a mystery as no one can identify him. The contestant wore a Team GB hoodie.
70 year-old passers-by heckled Ball is the oldest competitor, with his catchphrase ‘Think of a number’ – the name of the educational show he fronted between 1978 and 1984. He retorted by saying Forsyth’s mantra favorite line: ‘Nice to see you.’
The celebrities were immediately introduced to their respective partners.
The competition will begin on Friday, October 5.
