The CW Network, this show premiered in the latter part of 2005 and instantly because a success. This is mainly because of the lack of good horror shows out today; most of the horror shows you find on television are poorly written dramas about Vampires. If you feel like catching up on the show you should not have a really hard time because the series is only in its fifth season with a total of 92 episodes.
The plot goes something like this: After their mother is killed by a demon brothers Sam and Dean and their father embarked on a quest to find and kill this demon. Their quest has taken them far and wide and they have meet a lot of very interesting people along the way, some of who turn out be nothing more than demons. I would say more about the plot but I'm not going to spoil the show for you. Since this is a show about everything paranormal many characters who everyone thought wouldn't last more than a few episodes have lasted the entire series. For example the character Bobby Singer –played by actor Jim Beaver- was one of the ones who were thought to be passing characters, but Bobby is still going strong and I do not think they are going to write him out of this series for anytime soon.
Supernatural is not all about gore and demons; some of their episodes are pretty funny in a twisted way. For example in season 5 episode 6 they encounter a tooth fairy who extracts all the teeth out of a person instead of taking the one that has come out and leaving a dollar. But most of the time the show is pretty intense, sometimes even too intense for younger viewers so please make sure to watch this show with your children and know when enough is enough.
This show is very entertaining, especially if you are interested in things that have to do with the occult. This is one of the few good horror television shows out there; so there is not too much competition when it comes to Supernatural. Demons, angels, antichrists, vampires, ghosts, and witches are all in a day's work for the characters of this show so if you really care for any of those stuff check out Supernatural on
