The biggest prize in ITV history has been won by a contestant of Simon Cowell’ new reality game show Red or Black. The ITV1 show did not reveal his full name, and he was only known as Graham. He had beaten seven other contestants in a series of challenges. However, the winner will not get his prize soon as he will have to wait until the broadcast of the episode in August before collecting his winnings. TV duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly granted the prize right after hours of recording at Elstree Studio, and Graham was covered in confetti as his stunning wife rushed on stage – and he was hoisted on to his friends’ shoulders. The prize for the ITV1 show was only £500,000 prize every week. Though, the jackpot prize, was only half of the offer last year; the total will accumulate each time no one wins the show for that week. Graham’s prize was tripled as no contestants had won the two previous episodes. It can be remembered that last September that it got revealed that one of the winners had a criminal record for assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Former bricklayer Nathan Hageman, 31, was given the prize money despite spending two-and-a-half years in jail for the brutal attack. Soon after that, three other finalists were removed right after after ITV carried out fresh background checks. This is the reason why the producers chose to scrap the show’s live format so they could investigate winners more thoroughly. As if it was not enough, show bosses were forced to axe a giant roulette wheel used to pick winners following the time the Gambling Commission declared as glamorized gambling. Since then, it got replaced by a new game - dubbed 'The Vortex' - in which contestants predict how long a ball will take to drop through a hole. On Monday night episode, Graham won a series of bizarre tasks, which had sealed the fate of his competition on the reality show. During the first part, Boyzone singer Ronan Keating performed while two ballerinas – one dressed in red, the other on black - twirled onstage. The contestants must make a wild guess on which dancer would make more turns. In the other challenges, they chose between two motorbike stuntmen. On the third part, they have to guess which step the monk can fell into. Back in 2000, Judith Keppel was the first contestant who had won the prize money of £1million. She won the money from the reality game show, Who Want To Be A Millionaire.
