Sarah Linden is working in Seattle, but not for very long, as this is going to be her last day doing her current job. Times have been tough, but her and her son Jack have exciting times ahead. Her fiancé lives in Sonoma and they are leaving tonight to go and meet him.
Of course, Sarah could not leave her job until a replacement had been found. The replacement comes in the form of a man named Stephen Holder, who is ready to get started and take over the job. Determined and good at his job, he is looking forward to change although there are few unexpected twists before he can settle at his new job.
They get a phone call from patrol cars, who found a sweater covered in blood in the middle of a field. This leads them in The Killing to finding the body of a missing girl who goes by the name of Rosie Larsen. She is found in the trunk of a car and it is registered to a councilman. Of course, Linden then has to put off her trip for a few days in order to get matters in hand, although it could turn out to be a lot longer than she expects.
The great thing about The Killing is that it is a TV series that can be watched more than once. Each time a viewer watches it again, they will pick up on something else, because it is exceptionally well made. The problem is that TV these days is full of the likes of CSI, which are poorly made, extremely cheesy and incorporate a lack of creativity. This is one of the reasons that The Killing is extremely catchy and extremely easy to get into, because it is unique in a way that it is actually quite realistic and believable.
The Killing has already managed to attract plenty of media coverage and has had some excellent reviews from a range of different sources. One thing is for sure, it is extremely easy to understand, easy to get into and generally a pleasure to watch, unlike many of the other programs that are out these days. For those that are looking for a new and unique crime drama, then this is certainly going to be on the top of any short list, miles ahead of many of the other crime based TV series that are around today.
