The Big Bang Theory is an American situation comedy which airs on the
CBS network. This program made its debut on September 24th 2007 and has since been on air for 3 seasons covering 55 episodes. This show was created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and the pilot episode was directed by James Burrows. James shot this episode using multiple cameras and the episode lasted for about 21 minutes without commercial breaks. The Big Bang Theory features the acting talents of Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Hilberg, Kunal Nayyar, and Sara Gilbert; these actors and actresses do a great job and are part of the reason why this show receives such high ratings.
The show is basically about four five friends who live in an apartment complex. Four of these friends are what you would call classical geeks; they love costume parties, fantasy movies, and video games. The fifth character is a very beautiful blond with dreams of making it big in show business. The comedy in this show is similar to Two and a Half Men; this is probably because Chuck Lorre also produces that show.
The Big Bang Theory has received pretty good ratings; it ranks right under Two and a Half Men and receives an average of 9 million viewers per episode. These viewers are usually between the ages of 18 and 49. In addition this show has been nominated for many awards and has so far taken home 2 TCA Awards, a People's Choice Award and another award from the American Film Institute. I am not surprised that this show has already taken home such great awards, because it is well put together and nobody can deny the fact that
CBS is on to something great with this show.
Overall I give The Big Bang Theory a 8/10, the show is pretty entertaining and when it comes to comedy Chuck Lorre is a genius so I expect that this show will be around for a while longer. If you would like to see the show for yourself head over to the
CBS network or you can log online and watch full episodes of this very popular show.
