As the show nearing its end, the contestants of The Voice are starting to feel the pressure.
So it is up to their mentor to ensure that they can forget about the contest once in a while.
Tom Jones treats his team to a game of golf at the Dinosaur Safari Adventure Golf course in Hertfordshire.
With him are his disciples Adam Isaac, Matt and Sueleen, Leanne Mitchell and Ruth Brown for the slightly lower octane competition.
In an interview with the DailyStar, he admitted that he never heard anyone who sings like Ruth before.
Tom added a word of appreciation for the show's live audience, saying that he could only last for two hours whenever he sings live.
The people in the studio audience wait for their turn for eight hours. Tom is amazed on how they manage to wait that long.
Tom was also interviewed by the DailyMail about his experience with the BBC1 talent search show.
‘I always like to know what new talent is out there and what people think of it,’ he said. It’s that keen ear that has stood him in excellent stead since the days of his first hit, It’s Not Unusual, in 1965.
Jones of ten talks about his experience with some of the world’s renowned singers that he had worked with in the past.
Though, he looks like he is enjoying himself on the show, but he confess that he did not wanted to join the panel at first since it could damage his carefully nurtured reputation.
Since the time that he started with his career, all that he had to worry about is about himself. Now he had to be concerned about other people too.
The judge of any competition should never show that they have favoritism among the contestants, but Jones admitted that he has a favorite among the contenders.
He is rooting for Roth Brown, whom he claimed that have the most unusual-sounding voice.
Though, she is still young as she got an amazing voice. He claimed that the viewers cannot hear the dynamics, but in the studio they could hear it all so they know who really has the talent. In television the quality of the voice gets squashed.
‘I was listening for honesty in the vocals. That’s what I want to hear on records. Jessie J looked for people who have more gymnastics in their voice because that’s the way she sings.'
