V is an American television science fiction drama; this show is a remake of the widely popular 1983 series with the same name. This show is basically about what happens when aliens come to visit earth. At first everybody thinks their arrival is great news; they cure a bunch of human diseases and have recruited a number of human youth claiming that they are going to train them. But as the show unfolds it is found out that the alien visitors have a different agenda.
V has received very good ratings for the short time it has been on television. When asked to rate this show on a scale of 1-10 E! Online gave it and 11! The few low ratings it has gotten has been because it is very early in its first season and a lot of critics do not give a show a high rating unless they have been able to see a complete season. This is mainly because a lot of television shows start out great and then crash mid-season, but I do not think this is going to be a problem with V because they really do not have to worry about story line. All they have to do is make sure they get the actors to perform well and the special effects crew to do a great job.
Some controversy has risen over this show, some viewers and critics have claimed that the aliens in the show have a lot in common with President Barack Obama. In the show the aliens speak of change, hope, and universal heal care. These are the same things that were promised by President Obama just before he took office. I really do not think there is any truth to these claims because this is a program that airs on
ABC, and
ABC has been known to be an avid supporter of the president since his was on the campaign trail in 2008.
If you were a fan of the original show I am sure you will find that this one lives up to the name. If you never got a chance to see the old show do not worry, this one is pretty good and covers all the main topics that the original did; story line is almost identical which makes this show 100% awesome.
