Last series of X Factor, the show become the talk of the town as their contestants were often seen in clubs partying all night. With some of them hopping from one bed to another, and if you thought that was the worse, then think again. One contestant even brag about taking a class A drug. So as, the ITV talent show returned to screen the last night, several people were expecting that the ITV bosses are even stricter to their contestants than last year. But the show seems not learned from past mistakes as they didn’t even bother to enforced rigid curfews and sex bans to avoid further scandals. According to a new judge Nicole Scherzinger, she was relaxed about the behaviour of hopefuls on the show. Scherzinger said: ‘We are not their mums – we are their mentors.’ Her comments were agreed upon by fellow judge, N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos. Tulisa said: ‘Everyone knows that, with my acts, I will crack the whip. But I also make space for play-time. Last year I took my acts out clubbing. ‘It’s not meant to be a gruelling military operation. You are meant to be fulfilling your dreams, and you have to enjoy that.’ Tulisa also defended Cocozza who was banished from the show because of taking drugs in front of a member of the production team. She said: ‘Frankie was over at my dad’s house with Dappy [her cousin and fellow N-Dubz star] the other day, so that says it all. What were you doing at that age? What do you expect? Everyone needs to enjoy themselves.’ Last year’s antic made some publicity for the show. Tulisa was forced to axed six contestants after breaking a sex ban. The judges’ statement will strengthen how some critics sees the show. Last season, The X Factor, was beaten over and over again in the ratings war by Strictly Come Dancing. This year, ITV talent show, might be able to make a comeback as they got some outstanding performances coming from their contestants. There is also a drama going on as Pink to some outstanding performances, last night’s show featured furious scenes when the judges rejected Pink tribute act Zoe Alexander stormed off stage. One of their guest judges, Mel B seemed on a bad mood as delivered a series of withering put-downs to hopefuls. ITV hopes that Simon Cowell can deliver ratings gold and yesterday handed almost three hours of the prime-time schedule to shows produced by his Syco company.
